USISA - Canned and Cured SeaFood
Unión Salazonera Isleña, SA (USISA), located on the southwestern coastal town of Isla Cristina (Huelva), is one of the largest Spanish producers of canned and cured seafood. Their extensive product line has put them on the map, both nationally and internationally, winning the recognition of clients and sector organizations alike.
In 2003 alone, USISA was recognized with the Landaluz and Artesanos del Mar awards, they were finalists for the Carrefour Best Small & Medium Andalucian business competition, chosen 2nd by clients for the same award, and granted the prestigious Golden Recognition (Distinción de Oro) from the Huelva Federation of Businessmen.
USISA attributes their long-term success to their dedication to producing all-natural seafood products that have surpassed the company´s own quality control standards. USISA also holds the European quality certification ISO 9001.
With more than a century of experience behind them, USISA is proud to anounce the expansion of their facilities to allow for the addition of a line of preserved seafood in glass containers.
USISA produces and commercializes two types of products: Preserved and Dried-Cured seafood.
USISA´s preserved products can be found under their brand names ¨Conservas el Tejero¨ and ¨El Decano.¨ In their search to offer only the highest quality products, they have recently launched a third brand, ¨Black Label,¨ which is used for their line of select fish preserved in virgin olive oil.
USISA´s characteristic dried seafood includes the popular, all-natural Dry-Cured Mojama tuna (Thon Seché), the company´s star product.
As part of USISA´s dedication to the internationalization of their company, they have kept in close contact with buyers and importers through their participation in international trade events. In 2003 alone, USISA participated in SIAL (Paris, France), European Seafood Exhibition (Brussels, Belgium), London Int´l Wine and Spirits Fair (London, England), among others.
